Derek graduated!

The first part of graduation, was going to the Senior's awards dinner. Derek and I got a babysitter (first time having a teeneager) and went downtown. They fed us a really good dinner and then we watched funny videos making fun of school and then they had awards. It was great to go and realize that we're at the finish line!

Most of the senior class...can you spot Derek?

Graduation weekend was so much fun. Graduation was two days, May 13 and 14. The first night was hooding in the Joslyn art museum. It is such a beautiful, historic building. My brother Eric is a dentist and graduated three years ago. We were lucky enough to be able to have him come and hood Derek. In addition, Derek's parents and my parents came. The kids were restless, but they did pretty well.

YAY! The graduate! Sporting his new, very manly shade of lavender. :)

The hooder (Dr. Brown) and the hoodee (Dr. Barnes)

WOOOO HOOOOO!

The reception after for the graduates was held in clinic. This is where Derek spent A LOT of time, seeing patients. Kind of funny to be in there eating and hanging out.

The next day was the University commencement held in the Qwest Center. This is where he officially graduated, along with all the graduate programs. Carter was fed up with lack of sleep and had a tough time. He finally fell asleep during the last part, which is pretty amazing. After that we went to Pitch pizza for a celebratory dinner before Eric left. We had a great day. (Mom has the pictures and I will add later)

I am so proud of my husband! He has worked so incredibly hard the last four years and rarely complained about the monotony of school or the late nights studying. Then he would come home and be a great husband and father. He is such a hard worker and I am lucky to his wife. The last four years we will never forget. We survived the freezing cold midwest winters and sweltering summers, had two babies, and survived four moves (Provo to Pocatello to Omaha to Boise). We can't wait for life after school, where we can finally start making money and paying back some BIG loans! :)
