Schools out

Addison has been attending preschool 2 times a week for the last 9 months and it just recently ended.  She has really likes Mrs. Hammer, her teacher, and has mostly nice things to say about it.  She has a hard time leaving my sight and as a result, a lot of mornings I had to walk her to the door and kind of shove her in and say byeeeee, looove you!  But, I think she has liked it and definitely has learned a lot.  She will be going back to the same place in the Fall.  I think she will enjoy catching Mrs. Hammer up on all injuries and new outfits.

Funny story that I don't think we'll forget....  We were all set for her little end of the year program where we got to go and watch the kids sing songs and show what they have learned.  We were so excited because Derek had work off that morning and could come.  We had the camera and video camera ready for the grandparents to watch.  Well, we get there and the moment she sees me she runs over and buries her face and cries in my lap.  She would not budge and no amount of coercing would get her to sit on the rug with the other kids.  It was terrible.  We were super disappointed and frustrated.  But, now its a funny story we can tell her when she is older.  :)  She is just a shy girl who doesn't like the limelight.  She gets it from me apparently because my mom had lots of similar stories to tell me.  We sure love her and know that dance recitals and stage-stuff just might not be her thing!

She finally gave her teacher a hug and got her picture book and progress report.

Trying to get her picture where I took her first day of school picture.  Still so upset!

Finally happy again, safe at our house. :)

Flowers we gave Mrs. Hammer.  Fun idea from pinterest of course. Addison did a good job writing her name too.

Every Friday we had a little playgroup/preschool where 5 other kids would meet up on a rotating schedule where they got to learn a little something and then play.  We had a little graduation program for them and lunch.  It was a lot of fun despite the crazy winds and cold temperature that day.  The kids even got to make their own graduation hats and then got to take home a bucket of goodies.  Thanks Heather for all your hard-work.
