Christmas 2011

We started off the Christmas season with christmas lights.  This was the first time we have put them up in our new house and Derek got up way high on the roof to string them up.  The kids were in awe.   We then put up our Christmas tree and decorated it.

We traveled to California to spend the week with my family.  We drove there for the first time and we left at bedtime and drove all night and got there about 10 am the next morning.  It was a long, tiring drive.  The kids did pretty well.  They would fall asleep for a couple hours and then we would have to stop to get gas and then they would wake up for an hour or more and go back to sleep.  It was interesting!  We were very glad to be there when we finally drove up.

We spent time with Eric and Josie and their kids who were also there.  Christmas Eve was at my parents house with grandparents, cousins and aunts/uncles.

Christmas was on Sunday so we woke up, opened stockings and then headed to church at nine.  After church we came back and opened presents.  The kids were having so much fun and were so excited.  Gotta love their innocence and zest for life!  We then hung around the house and had prime rib.

We had a great time over the holiday and are so glad we were able to spend it with my family.

 Opening up new pajamas that Santa brought and left on the porch on Christmas Eve!  She goes crazy with excitement!

Carter had this face all morning, each time he opened a new toy!
